I called the dealers and they don't know the oringal tweeter size for a 95 gsr sedan? I am planning to put in some infinity dome tweeter, but can't seem to find ayone who know the size for it... Can someone tell me the size where I can get the right size of tweeter to substitute the OEM tweeters with components.. Thanks

 

do u have the car?

if so... ruler of some sort...

and measure...

compare with tweeter inner diameter...

too small? make it bigger..

too big?? make a bracket...

the factory tweeter housing is pretty big that it's going to be impossible to find a set of tweeters that will fit in the factory cutout without the oem housing. your best bet is to take out the factory tweeter, remove the old tweeter of the factory bracket, mount the new infinity tweeter on it or hotglue or put a couple of drops of crazy glue to mount it to the back of the grille and mount it back in the door. although in theory, the extra grille might reduce the acoustical transparency, (grille blocks some of the output and alters dispersion characteristics) it's mostly psychoacoustic (in your head), but it gives you a nice clean look.

 

you'll need a tweeter with the threaded center on the back of it and then use the stock bracket. i know the smaller mb quart tweeters work. otherwise, bring it with you and see what fits.

I have a 99 dr. in the factory location behind the factory grills i have infiniti perfect 6.1. they fit perfect and look stock.

Thanks everyone... I got some alpine dome tweeter that is 1". It fit in there with no problem. Again thanks for the tech info.
