Default Energy Suspension Install?

Hey everyone,

I just purchased a whole complete Energy Susupension Poly. Kit for my ek, I was wondering if anyone out there has experienced installing all the bushings themself? and if so what you used to install them.

I know you can use a press, but i dont have one so i was thinking that maybe i would be able to complete this task @ home maybe.

thanks to anyone that can share some info.

i am not sure of any home remedy for this but i think that for the whole kit your best bet would be to buy a bushing installer that is like a big c-clamp that you use with an impact wrench. trying to do this without that or press would be a pain in the *** and you could buy one for what a shop would probobly charge to do it anyway

lots of drill bits a torch hack saw, hammer and a punch.
i use a vice to press the new ones in. or a long bolt.

Its not worth it...Luckily my gf dad is a mechanic so i got free pressng but those rear lcas are a BITCH. I would jsut take everything off and bring it to get pressed out at once and then the new bushings pop right in. Unless there is a tool that can make it easier,,

Since the Energy Suspension bushings don't have an outer shell like the OEM bushing they can be pushed into the arms by hand. The compliance bushing (big bushing on the rear of the front lower control arm) is the must difficult one and I used a vice to install it into the OEM bracket.

Biggest pain in the *** is removing the old bushings, I used the torch method:
1) Remove the control arm.
2) Heat up the inner can until the opposite side of the bushing smoked.
3) Use vice grips to twist the inner can out.
4) Insert hacksaw blade into the hole left by the inner can.
5) Saw through the outer shell in 2 spots and the bushing will pop out.

Basically the same as this TI article:

Don't try to install all the bushings at once, take it easy an install a few bushings at a time.

Thank you to everyone who posted and gave some light on this topic for me. I was able to find someone to remove and press in all the bushings for me 100 CDN. I hope i got a deal and not ripped off.
