92 civic cx, 8v-16v conversion, running P05 ECu has a CEL, but gives bad #'s. ???

 

Hows your timing set? if your timing is off a tooth or two then it will prevent you from reving your engine past a certain point.
check your timing first

Are there any codes the car is throwing? -- nvm you said it has a cell...check it and see what code it says

distributor..mine was doing that..changed it and all good

 

now, i know honda dizzys have several components inside of it, do you know exactly what is wrong inside the distributor if u say it is the distributor??

Wow everybody in this thread is wrong. You're getting a Solid CEL right? Fix that first.

 

i dont really know what was up with the distributor...i just changed the the whole thing..use the search u mite be able to find more answers

 

Yeah, if the car don't rev over 3500 than the service program running. It means, some general problem occured, so the ECU can't feel some of major sensor..

Maybe it will be in the distributor, (I have to swap it too).
What is the error code ?

If your set is bad at the cam, so your belt is off a tooth (I had onece a same problem) then the car is just weak, and revs up slower.. It won't gives a cel...

That's been my experience as well. Last time I got a CEL and there was a 3500 RPM rev limit, it was because I forgot to plug in my TPS.

 

check your map and knock sensors...that happend to my inlaw and it was his map sensor
