Default Installing aftermarket remote keyless entry

Hi,
The factory remote keyless entry on our '98 Civic EX died. How hard is it to install an aftermarket RKE kit on a Civic? Is it something I can handle if I've done some stereo installs before? Anyone have some advice on a good kit?

Thank you!

Sorry - RKE = Remote Keyless Entry - not a brand, just abbreviating what I'm working on.

Cruising around on ebay, I notice that the keyless entry system looks like a grey box that fits into an indentation on top of the stock stereo. Maybe it would be just as easy to replace the box than to go figure out the wiring on an aftermarket unit?

Any suggestions?

Installing a new keyless entry system is easy on Hondas... The locks are negative trigger, so no relays are required, and the wires are all in the same general area (driver under dash and kick panel). (or in 2 plugs going into the factory radio)... It's only should be 6 wires or so... Power, ground, ignition power, parking lights, lock & unlock...

The systems that fit into the radio are the factory alarm system, which won't help your situation if your factory keyless took a dump...
