H22a1 Skunk2 68mm TB map sensor mounting
Hi.
Im new to this forum, but not new to VTEC's. Gotta be the best engineered engines!!
Anyway to the question - I have just purchased a Skunk2 S2 IM and 68mm TB for my JDM VTEC gen4.
Reading the instructions from Skunk2 leaves me with a few questions to which I am hoping someone can help me with please.
In the instructions for the TB, Skunk2 say that the MAP sensor should be mounted to the TB. This I understand but the MAP snsor is mounted to the firewall, and does not mount to the TB - even if I extend the wiring harness etc.
Can I just blank off this mounting feature on the TB and take a vac feed from the IM to the MAP sensor?
I would have thought that as it is a Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor, it should take a vac reading directly at the TB - i.e. the opening vacuum point.
I can make an adaptor, but if it is just as easy to take the vac feed from the IM then that will save some time.
Also I have searched this site regarding the IM, and read a lot about the OBDII issues. The Skunk2 IM shouldnt cause any probs with the OBDI on my gen4 should it?
Any ideas - your advice is appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

I looked @ mine and noticed the stock map is on the firewall w/ the vac feed from the intake manifold. You can probably just plug the tb map spot or get a tb map from a integra or later model civic (some early civics came w/ firewall mounted maps as well). hth.

Thanks for the info. Will need to find a teggy/civic over here in blighty that can donate its map sensor.
Cheers for the help.
