Race Replica bikes
Perhaps it is just me - but does anyone else find them a touch daft? It's like the folks that buy Monte Carlos and then sticker them to look like the NASCAR version, then drive them around on the street - you aren't fooling anyone.

Stop trying to sound all British, and welcome to last week
We discussed how lame it was to put race graphics on roadgoing bikes (Telefonica/Movistar, for example), and I likened it to decking out a Monte Carlo in full Dale Jr. livery. Would it be cool? Only for the person operating it, who is pretty much deluding themselves into thinking it looks "good."
Advertising livery has one purpose, to maximise revenues. Sporting brand names on the side of your machine has always been ricey - whether it's an Eibach sticker on your fender, or that fully decal'd Aprilia that Schu posted last week - unless you are getting paid big bucks to do so.

see I think that's bad *** and pretty damn original for what you see on the street. everyone on HT has the whole car mentality though of omg a sticker on your vehicle, are they paying you? no well you're giving them free advertisement. It'd look cleaner without
like someone is really gonna buy repsol motor oil cause I have a repsol honda. Or if I put together a konica minolta cbr1000rr race replica - someone's gonna go out and buy a camera from them. It's unique, it's the owner's choice, and I happen to like them

i'm kinda iffy on the subject. i don't know if i'd want one because it is kind of false advertising yourself, but i gotta admit that yamaha looks totally bad ***!

how is it false advertising yourself? it says that you like that bike so much to make a replica. I see nothing wrong

Hmmm, I actually like race replicas. But i would say i would only consider one if i thought of myself as very skilled rider. When i see a repsol edition CBR1000rr I am in awe, I think it gives the bike a "serious business" look and i like it. If they sold an EP3 with the BTCC replica appearance package, i would like that too.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. If you're fine with a showroom stock bike, be my guest. If you want your bike to look like you're favorite race rep, you're just as welcome. In our world of sport bikes, it's very rare to see something different while riding around. That's why people jump at the chance to buy the next new thing or the limited edition paint scheme. And you know its not because its a cool color or anything.. shoot, Kawi still sells a **** load of kermit green bikes every year.
I'd love to have a race rep of Hayden's or Rossi's or Colin's or somebody because I'm a fan. If you don't like it.. well.. up yours. And because you don't know if that guy on the Repsol replica is a true GP fan or just an attention *****, you should becareful to pass judgement.
