*update* w/ pics









So, I got my car back from the shop, and let me tell you, i'm totally UNSATISFIED. Again, lesson learned to not just take your car anywhere, only places that have experience in these situations.

As you can see in the pics, the hood isn't closed all the way because i don't have the t bar.... but even then, it's still aligned pretty nasty. I'm gonna do some homework and see what place around here have experience with body kits and what not. Wish me luck guys.....


I took my car to a shop to get my car put together and primered. I bought the whole wings west replica kit (urethane) and the door caps and side skirts are fine, but the shop is saying the rear bumper along with the front bumper is not lining up correctly.

I got the whole mugen front end conversion from password jdm and i would think everything would be fine. I'm honestly thinking the shop (to which is my father's friend) is just not experienced with body kits. I'm not expecting the body parts to fit perfect, but it shouldn't be that hard, right? It's almost been in the shop for a month, them just trying to figure out how to line it up correctly.

The back bumper to where it meets the body is off, I really don't know why.

As far as the front bumper they've tried many things. I gave them the instructions that i got off the wings west site. Obviously the front bumper isn't the same, so they put it on first with the front bumper support. Obviously didn't fit, so took it off. Put it back on, it's fitting better, but where it meets the fender and the end is looking NASTY. From the usdm fenders, are they suppose to keep the plastic things that were used to connect the usdm bumper to the fender? Well, they took that off, it fit, but they said there wasn't anywhere for support. Are you suppose to make your own holes for screws? I just don't want to add things where it's not suppose to go to make that body part weaker and later crack in the future.

Please help so I could make this crx pretty

Well first off do you have a SiR frontend and or do you have the bumper support from an SiR frontend?

 

I bought the whole front end conversion from password jdm, which is basically the whole front end conversion w/ the mugen replica front bumper. It did not come with the front bumper support.

 

I think that's Gods way of saying don't put the bodykit on.

It's common knowledge that bodykits don't always fit. Cut and paste them on. If the shop your car is at is taking 1 month to install 6 body panels, there is something wrong with the shop.

Seb youve seen my Mugen kit it fits like a glove.

i had the wings west kit on my old crx and it fit nice ant tight after we cut the back bumper in half and fre fiberglassed it, but it was well worth the time.

Yes I know Mike, but you have a true Mugen bumper from 92. The wings west replica isn't perfect. Everyone that has bought a replica kit has had to 'make' it fit on.

 

I believe you need the T bar support from an EF7 for the front end to fit perfectly. Also, if that bumper is made by VIS you figure it would fit a bit better than that. I also agree with that bodyshop beign terrible if they take a month to do 6 body panels.....

do what you have to do to make it fit.

as long as its not visible from the outside once you're done, who cares?

i mean no offense to half the responses in this thread, but its about the look of the finished product, sometimes some finagling is nessesary to make things work.

 

a body shop should be able to do what it takes to make it fit.

take it somewhere else.

Is that kit, from the side skirts back urethane or fiberglass. The reason i ask is because all the WW urethane kits ive seen usally fit pretty dang good out of the box with lil or no modification. But fiberglass replicas ive seen of the mugen kit fit like crap.

 

take it to a reputable shop. they should have the know how and experience to "make" it fit.

It's urethane. I did get the kit with no instructions and no screws either, so may that have caused them problems?

Oh yeah, this car hasn't been in any accidents either. Just FYI to maybe why it may not fit.

Holy sh*t! It looks like a wood screw going straight up holding the corner on in this pic.

 

Don't worry about the tbar, you don't need it.

Hell my 'jdm' tbar that was with my whole front end conversion bolt on fine, but the hoodpin/latch and all would not line up at all. I end up putting the stock one on and just slotting them. I know I got the right one because I got the front part of the clip still in my back yard. All the right color and all.

I dont think it has anything to do with anything anyways heh.

I would just find a bodyshop that can do some good fiberglass work. It shouldnt be too hard at all for it to get fit seamless if they know what thier doing. But looks good.

It looks like it should be a good fit to me.. but that shop FUCKED up. I would take everything apart and test fit it. Back to square one basically

Hmmm that looks really off to me. I dont know how well any shop can get that to line up right. If you move the rear bumper in more it will stick out. Id sell the kit and be on your way. Shame though

 

I've never seen a WW rear bumper fit so poorly. Why don't you pull it off yourself and look at it. It only takes a few minutes to remove the rear.
