Default questions about lowering.

hi i posted this in the suspension forum also but no replies.
i have tokico blues with some unknown springs. i want to lower it some more, what would i need to do this. i thought i could just get some shorter springs but a guy from a shop told me that springs would not lower my car. i need to get coilovers. my shocks are not adjustable.
i want to lower it about front 2.5 and rear 2 from stock height.
any suggestions? its for a 96 gsr
i would like to keep my shocks and get rid of the springs. i have about 250-300 to spend

you can run coilovers on your current shocks but they probably won't last long. I'd check into getting an adjustable shock with some ground control coilovers that will be cheaper than buying a full coilover set.

wait and save more money, because those shocks will not last long at all with a 2.5" drop.

np... im sayin that cuz i had a 91 CB7 (91 accord) w/ kyb gr-2 struts and tein s-tech springs. My friend that has an 01 miata got the TEIN FLEX damper. After ridin shotgun w/ him runnin in the canyons. OMG... I will never go back to a strut/spring setup. It doesnt compare to a full coil-over setup.
