2nd gear pops out when shift @ high rpms, but ok when shift @ low.

Default 2nd gear pops out when shift @ high rpms, but ok when shift @ low.

what could be the cause? only 2nd gear.

Always start with a cheap fix. My guess would be that you are out of trans. fluid.

Crankshaft thrust bearings? Damn, check tranny fluid isn't even on that list.

I put that list in there to illustrate the importance of a cheap fix i.e. checking your tranny fluid. I doubt the OP has an issue with something like that.
More likely its out of fluid or a bad synchro. Another cheap fix for this problem: is your shift linkage tight?

Mine would do the samething till i changed clutches. Never had the same problem again.

That's prbable because when the shop did the clutch install they added some tranny fluid back to the tranny.
