don't get dropzone/ebay/pos coilover sleeves.

a set of ground controls or even good lowering springs are worth the money. not sure if you've ever seen a car w/ spring perch failure, but it's not pretty.

i'm not gonna go that cheap. i was thinking omni slips for 150 and agx for 280. total of 430 not bad?

i want style and selections for a good price and for under 5 bill i think is a pretty good combo.

Word, I checked and H&R has a comparable price. H&R is a quality spring man.

alirght, sorry if i didnt leave anything informative on my previous post. but anyways, if you dont want to go cheap and want a quality suspension, i would suggest stick with springs with konis or even tokicos. slipovers are pos. thye are just for looks. imho, even ground controls arent worth it to me. a lot of people swear by them, but my personal experience, is a good set of springs and struts is better than any slipover.

That statement is pretty ignorant. Ground-Control sleeves serve a MUCH needed purpose that NO regular lowering spring could even possibly match. Besides the ride height adjustment feature (that allows for corner-weighting, and cheap camber adjustment), Ground Control offers the ability to swap spring rates to tune the behavior and/or ride quality of the vehicle. There isn't even any other brand of slip-over that can say that. GC also does all that without special spanner wrenches (that can get lost) & double locking perches. It's also ridiculous to think that people don't actually use these features when there are tons & tons of people that drive their cars in competitive events (even for fun)...

Now what you have to decide is weather or not these features are really of any advantage to you. If you know the ride height you want, and you know you don't want to be messing with spring changes, then coil-over sleeves are just gonna be a waste of your money. But you cannot just sit there & say they are only for looks and they are pieces of **** (I've never heard of a failed GC sleeve)...

The main problem the OP is facing is price vs. quality. GC is really the only quality sleeve system on the market. If he doesn't want to spend that much money, then I can only recommend sticking with a lowering spring set. There are more quality options for lowering springs (H&R, Neuspeed, and Eibach), and the prices are more within his target range...

kind of get what the guys are saying here. i'm feeling the springs too but the only thing is they won't be too low for me. maximum lowering spring is what 2".25? i want at least 3" lowered.
again i'm trying to stick with jdm racer in japan use only like kyb. i was gonna go with tein s tech but they don't look that low to me. i know i can't have everything the jdm racer in japan have, but at least i know i can sport some of their feature brands.

just like tires. eg's in japan mostly use dunlop, yoko, and bridgestone and i will buy one of those tires. i could buy rims like hart, volk, ssr, weds, but i don't want to. i'll settle for generic.

Yes, stiffer springs need better shocks. Most springs come from the same place anyway.

Koni's and Ebay coilovers. Good combo.

Most springs are overpriced anyway.

It would be the other way around. Stiff springs with weak OEM shocks. Go learn how shocks and springs work before commenting.

Maybe you misinterpreted my post. I was saying the majority of slips are pos not the gc. I wasn't to clear. In my opinion they aren't worth my hassle. a good set of springs will do. You can order different spring rates for your car with eibach, h&r, etc. You can make your own #s up and they will build it. Either way you have to buy new sets to test them correct? You can do everything the gcs have with springs, other than height adjustability on the fly.

All coilovers offer ride height adjustment. And this doesn't correct camber. The camber changing by lowering the vehicle is a byproduct. they are not independent.

Wrong. Eibach makes the springs and the springs are a standard 2.5 in ID. Many companies make this same size spring in many different spring rates.

I have a set of ebay ones that look identical to the GCs. $50 shipped and never had a problem.

DAMN. Is Eibach/GC cutting you a CHECK for this marketing spam.

Talking about a product that has been backed up and reinforced by many racers is only natural. If many racers are having sucess with the ERS springs and the GC sleeves, and they like their warranty, and build standards and material quality, then naturally people are going to reccomend them and say positive things about them.

I myself have SPSS3 valved regular length Koni dampers and full length (no longer made) GC sleeves, this combo works very well for me. But i need more spring rates to test out...and time to do so.

Hmm, dropzone springs or ERS springs. i guess they're all the same, mostly.

looking identical has nothing to do with being identical.

Think about the stress on suspension components during driving, especially performance driving/racing/tracking. Think about how gnarly a suspension failure can be midcorner in turn 9 at willow springs. There's a reason why all the (real) racers tend to use real parts like GC/ERS/Koni.

They aren't invincible, but they are superior to $50 ebay coilovers.

We don't get paid to jock ERS/GC/Koni. All we are are satisfied customers, some of us have put these parts through hell and they've held up great. No need for flashy marketing schemes, or voodoo science--these parts kick ***, the companies behind the parts kick *** (warranties, customer service) and i'm just doing my part to let people know that these parts are everything they are advertised to be and more.
