airbag installation woes

Default airbag installation woes

just wanted to make sure..

when removing and installing airbags, is the only precaution i need to take disconnecting the battery to avoid them from deploying?

Tech at the dealership told me to disconnect the battery cables and then touch them together...

disconect the battery then let it sit for at least 30 min...power is stored in the air bag control moudule for up to 30 min so they could deploy when your disconecting it....i deal with air bags all the time.

Word, the transformer can store electricity at max that long.

when you remove them, don't forget to put the clip in the harness that is supplied on the back of the airbag.

Make sure to also place metal side down. So incase the airbag does go off it will not jettison into outterspace

true, i have the helms and it just says to put the red clip on the airbag connector clip or something like that

i deal with them all the time on new cars you will be fine just disconect the ground and let it sit for 30 min and your cool to take it off
