Default Anyone with the HyTech exhaust?

Hey what's up everyone, since there seems to be alot of HyTech knowledge around here I thought I would ask.

I ordered the full header-cat-exhaust system from John about a month and a half ago. My header and cat have been completed but I'm still waiting on the catback exhaust. John told me he finally recieved the b-pipes and necessary parts however the Type R he was going to test it on for fitament got wrecked and is being repaired now. I thought John had already made an exhaust for a Type R with a HyTech header before. Here's a pic of the muffler.

Anyone here have this exhaust? I told John he can have my Type R to test it on (I live 10 minutes from him) and he said he might need it so I'll see what happens. But I thought the dyno results on his webpage consisted of the full HyTech system so he had to have built one before or were those results with just the header and cat with another fabricated exhaust?

I ordered one about amonth ago also and just recently spoke to him regarding it. He said he got all the metal in to make them, however he was knee deep in formula 1 stuff and would not be able to do anything for a few months.

Craig - Who is trying to get John to make him one before expo

vagoITR is the only person that I know of that has the full system...you're on a long waiting list...believe me, I'm on it too. Should be a month of 2 as he's working on Formula stuff at the moment.

I just ordered the Hytech twin loop axle back today for my civic. He told me it would be ready for production in about a month because he is working on an exhaust system for a lamborghini. Has anyone been waiting longer than what John had said?

He originally told me just a couple weeks, but shipment of the b-pipes was delayed. I wouldn't expect a super speedy turnaround anyway as he hand builds and perfectly TIG welds everything on the side of doing his professional race exhaust work. However long it takes him I know it's gonna be worth the wait.

And vagoITR, I'll bring a rag to wipe off my drool hehe. Was that your car dynoed on HyTech's webpage? I'll definitely have some questions for you.

I was considering the Hytech catback also but due to the complaints of long waiting lines I just got me a Kakimoto R catback.....full stainless, mandrel bent and 2.75" inner diameter piping.....cant go wrong with that!

Looks good. How much does that complete system cost for the DC2-R? What about the axle back?

If you just want the catback it is $700, the full header-cat-exhaust system is $2000.

Does anyone else find it amusing that when he borrows someone else's design it's "common good engineering", but if someone else happens to use the same thing he does, it must be a blatant copy, and lawsuits ensue.

The header might be worth the dough, but the exhaust, I doubt it.

The original poster asked for feedback on the product. Not how the business owner deals with his business. If you don't have any positive or negative feedback ON THE PRODUCT, keep the useless comments to yourself.

It's like people ask for feedback on a Mustang, and you answer him it sucked cuz Mr. Ford screwed a 16yo. (just an example)

My feedback is that there is way too much bitching and whining on this forum.

How about we all just chill out and try to enjoy the reason we're here?
Lets stick to a topic....any topic.

*NEW TOPIC*

What did you eat for breakfast today?

I had a plain bagel toasted with butter and grape jelly along with some chocolate milk. umm yummy

OK now back to the other topic... it seems much more interesting.

I'd like to order some kind of header & exhaust combo but I keep forgetting I need a motor worthy to put them on first!

doh!

*ps* i'm down for playin some patty-cake while some of you wait for your stuff!

Yeah, and you can overpay for the PERFORMANCE of a 60mm exhaust.

At least the hytech is real 2.5" all the way through.....

It's your money, spend it however you wish.
