Default Tire size for Mugen mr5 15's

I own several cars including a 90 Crx, 95 Mitsu Vr4 twin turbo, and I recently bought a 91 Integra Ls.

The 91 integra ls came stock with steelies/donuts and I already went and place an order from Inlinefour for the Mugen MR5 wheels 15x6 +38 4x100. The Integra is lowered on ksport Suspension kit.

My question is, will the Mugen Mr5 15's be good with tire sizes that is 195/55R15 or is there other size that would be better or mostly used for performance wise?
Name of brand tire would be nice also to know.

I need to know soon so I can place an order on my tires.

The '91 Integra came with 195/60-14 tires stock. On 15" wheels, you can use either 195/55-15 or 205/50-15. Either one will fit fine.

Don't just buy based on brand name. Most tire companies make some excellent tires and some that are not worth getting.

You don't mention what you are using these tires for. Daily driving? Racetrack, dragstrip, or autocross? What about weather - is rain performance important? Do you plan to use them on snow and in frigid cold? Also, how much do you care about performance? Are you willing to get a tire that costs more or doesn't last as long, if it offers better performance? Or are you looking for value for your money, too?

If you don't need to use these tires on snow, then you should get summer tires rather than all-season tires. An excellent summer tire is the Kumho Ecsta SPT, which offers very good dry traction, excellent wet traction, and long treadlife. Right now there is a $40 rebate on a set of four, which lowers the price on the SPT from $58 to $48 per tire in 205/50-15, and from $62 to $52 per tire in 195/55-15. That's an excellent price on an excellent tire. The rebate ends this Saturday. Other, similar tires include the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 and Yokohama ES100.

For a description of a lot more options in 15" summer tires, see this topic. It was written on the Integra Type R forum but applies equally to any Integra with 15" wheels.

If you do need to use these tires on snow as well as in warmer temperatures, then I recommend the Kumho Ecsta ASX, which is their top all-season tire. The same $40 rebate applies to the ASX.

Thanks for the heads up.

As far as brand, I would want it for it's performance as in quality, I had tore up 12 tires within a year's period on my daily driven vr4 tt. That's because it grips on the ground too much base on it's horsepower but that's a given.

For my integra I would just like tires that would last for a while but not too cheap, Willing to spend max up to 700 for tires. That's my budget that I'm trying not to surpass. Any brands that are good as far as performance wise and long life?

I think I answered your question before you asked it. Sorry!

No problem.

Incidentally, you can get better performing tires than the SPT, DZ101, and ES100 I mentioned. However, they are going to be either a lot more expensive (Bridgestone S-03) or they are going to wear a lot faster (Kumho MX), or both (Falken Azenis RT-615, BFG T/A KD). Typical treadlife is 30-40K miles with the SPT/DZ101/ES100, 20-30K with the S-03, 15-20K with the MX/KD, and 10-12K with the RT-615. Also, the MX, RT-615, and KD aren't all that great in the rain. These are all good tires; it just depends on how much you're willing to sacrifice treadlife, price, and wet performance for better dry performance.
