Shaving the side moldings off a DC2?
A search turned up nothing, I could really car less about the look of my car, but finally today I started to sand my car down in prep for a makeover after dumping almost 10k in the motor. I want to remove the door guards and weld the holes where the mounting hardware is, has anybody else on here done this?.... basically to make it have the ITR look. Also where would be the cheapest place to score a 98-01 rear bumper, factory lip kit and new molding? The prices I got so far for molding are out of this world. My mirrors are pretty busted up and I was possibly looking for a non-ricey low key mirror, possibly in carbon fiber, anybody know of any decent mirrors?
Some teaser pics of todays progress.....

Just got done gutting the back for the 8 pt. and after that the whole back gets spray-bombed.

I've seen people cut square plates of metal and weld them from the inside of the body. Filler the un even from the outside, sand and prep.

Yea I like them too, but I would like to get a set of "real" carbons that appear like the stockers. Over the winter if I keep interest in the car I am going to do a CF Hood/Deck and a Lexan Window Kit.

In other words, same basic shape/size as a STOCK mirror, but in Carbon.
