Default skunk 2 stage 2 cams untuned, good or bad idea?

here is the setup,

100% stock jdm type r bottom end
fully built portflow gsr head w/ skunk 2 manifold
skunk 2 stage 2 cams
290 or 310 cc injectors(not sure yet)

would this setup run decent untuned or is it a waste of time? i know that max power wont be acheived w/o a tune.

not only will max power probably not be achieved w/o a tune, but max reliability probably won't be achieved either. Although, you're running a fairly safe setup, I'd say as long as your valvetrain can take it, run it with the 310cc injectors and you'll be a happy lil wanka.

What is the point of building a engine if you're not going to tune it?

what ecu will u be using. if VTEC is set lower than 5.4K then the car might bog out when VTEC engages

waste of a good motor if its not tuned. You spend all that money and cant spend another 400-500 for tuning.

At first I thought you were just going to drive around from work and back with those cams untuned. BUt then reading on, I see you are going to try to race people with stage 2 cams untuned? Instantly I had a visual of this situation, and here is a picture that best describes it. . . .

Go spend some money for tuning.
