i have an 89 prelude si and the trunk lid has to be slammed very hard in order to make it latch. what is the trick to adjusting the deck lid?

 

you probably dont have to adjust the lid, but the catch. if it's like the 4th gens you need a torx wrench do it, it's shaped like a star... just loosen up the bolts and move it closer to the latch....that should work.

 

i did that ....it appears there is no fore/aft or near/fore adjustments...it appears to be fixed...i am referring to the catch in the deck lid and not the latch on the body.....the latch is definitely fixed....i had it off. only one way to put back on. any other ideas?
