Default Greddy Turbo Kit vs JRSC

Okay, the Greddy Turbo kit come with a fuel management system. Does this mean I don't need to get my car dyno tuned after install? You know... like the JRSC kit?

What do you guys think about the two? Which would you prefere?

Would you guys recommend any other turbo kits?

Turbonetics or drag for example?

What would be the consequences of getting a full on Generic turbo kit?

What would you guys recommend for boosting with my stock Type-S motor?

the blue box that comes with the greddy kit is just a base tune. You need to get it tuned by removing the blue box, running a p28/p72 ecu and tuning with hondata, crome, neptune...whatever.

NEVER rely on base tunes, especially when dealing with boost.

Do A LOT of research... ask questions and be sure you know exactly what you're getting yourself into before you even spend on penny.

Everyone is willing to help, just don't ask questions that you KNOW there will be an answer do in the FAQ or by searching.

i agree that piecing together your own turbo setup is better, but you can't beat the carb legality of the greddy kit

Greddy isn't CARB legal. Call them up and see for yourself. CARB has been "pending" for 4 years+ to Greddy

thats sucks that its not CARB anymore, cuz where im from you wont prove anything to a cop that its legal, if they see a carb they cool down

Default Greddy Turbo Kit vs JRSC

So how do I know what turbo to get? Is there some kinda formula to be able to calculate at what RPM the boost will kick in and how much PSI will the turbo put in at red line? You know... like, what kinda BOV spring to use with which turbo to aquire a specific amount of boost.

Garrett makes the best turbos and thus the most expensive. but you get what you pay for. read all three of those faqs and you will know more than half the civic and integra people on this site. the third one deals with turbo sizing and so on.
with h22a's it was mostly the t25's and t28's i believe and were doing 33-55% increase in hp/tq. depends if you're dragging, road racing, drifting, circuit racing for the size and thus the delivery and response time. also if you want to put more than 6-8 psi in your engine without blowing it you're probably going to have to iron sleeve it, pistons, pins, rods, and maybe crank. to optimize the power turbo cams are standard. still i would peice together a garrett gt30-gt32 turbo/garrett a-a intercooler with tial wastegate, tial bov, and crower turbo cams for my 4th gen if i could afford it ^_^ although before even a turbo i would fab my own vortec centrifical supercharger for a 4th gen, again, if i could afford it.

yeah ur right they will send u to ref when i got pulled over the cop didnt say anything about my APEXi muffler he asked me if i can pop my hood, he looked at headers their DC sport saw the carb sayed ok, then to AEM CAI saw the carb sayed ok legal, but then looked on the side and saw Skunk2 adjustible cam gears and sayed ur timing is boost up its illegal, i sayed no its not their set at 0, the cop sayed it doesnt matter ur going to ref. i also had a Skunk2 cams he wouldnt see and would know cuz their under the valve cover, before i went to ref took off my muffler put the stock one on and took off the VAFC2 well failed bad anyways then it all started court and stuff had to ref it again after took off the cams and cam gears, berly passed if i was off by one number the guy told me i would of failed it

yeah that is a very good article to help you understand what you need and the basics of turbo charging.

Might want to invest in an uncut valve cover/timing belt cover

Yeah, I agree. The cops are the main reason why I have my Red Type-S valve cover hanging on the wall of my bedroom. I try to ride with as stock lookin' of an engine that I can.

they used to give out fixing tickets which u would have to put car to stock what ever u got a ticket for and come to court they will check and sign off or if ull find a cop on a was ask him to check and he will sign off the ticket and then in court ull just have to pay $10 and now they give out ref tickets to every mod they see mostly for like muffler even if its not loud they dont give a ****
