sounds like you've got a bad cv joint in one of your axles.

Now that it's clicking you'll need a new axle. After you return the core it'd be like 70 bucks. You need a 32mm socket to take the axle nut off and then you can just pop the axle out of the tranny with a screwdriver/mini pry. Easy job.

Easy for someone with some knowledge and the tools.

1. Remove the tire.
2. Remove the axles nut.
3. Remove the lower ball joint crown nut.
4. Pop the lower ball joint out of the lower control arm.
5. Undo the strut fork from the lower control arm.
6. Pop the axle out of the tranny.
7. Push the lower control arm down.
8. Slide the axle from the strut fork.
9. Do it reverse using the new axle.

Tools.

32mm socket, on breaker bar or air impact gun (Axle nut)
19mm on breaker bar (Tire nut)
17mm wrench (Balljoint, shifter fork)
17mm ratchet (Balljoint, shifter fork)
Flat head screw driver or pry bar (Axle removal)
Hammer (Pop ball joint out)

If anyone wants to add anything.

if you don't have a lot of experience working on suspension then get a new axle.

rebuilding them is somewhat a pain and will require a decent amount of physical effort and a possibly a vice.

buying a rebuilt one is so much easier and sometimes not that much more expensive.

PS: normally by the time your axles are clicking it is too late for a rebuild

99.9% of the time it's too late. If can rebuild then and they won't click, but as soon as you beat them up or drive for 10XXXkms, they give out again...

You more then likely googled it...he meant searching honda-tech itself. An axle swap has been covered, over, and over, and over.

getting back to his question, unless you have air tools, you will need something for leverage to get that beast of an axle nut off. I had the biggest wrench I could find, and had to put a pipe on it about as high as the roof of my car. And I consider myself medium strong.

Have a BIG breaker bar ready or a nice long pipe.

I didnt have a 32 mm socket either, so I got a set of larger sockets at Tractor Supply. I found the same set at WalMart, by the jacks. about 20 bucks for a set.

G-SPOT

but yes its the axle...

i would replace the whole axle shaft assembly....

best time to change the MTF/ATF
other than taking the axle nut and the axle from the hub its quite easy...
just need the muscle and special tools to do this task....
