Jay Scranton named WD-40 NHRA Crew Chief of the Race for Vegas
After much discussion and debate....
SCRANTON NAMED WD-40 NHRA SPORT COMPACT CHIEF OF THE RACE
FOR THE LAS VEGAS NHRA SPORT COMPACT NATIONALS
GLENDORA, Calif. – Jay Scranton, crew chief for his brother Matt Scranton and his Ride Revolution Toyota Solara, has been named the WD-40 NHRA Sport Compact Crew Chief of the Race for the Las Vegas NHRA Sport Compact Nationals in Las Vegas.
Scranton was successful in guiding the team to a victory in the Pro RWD category at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, July 14-15. This was the Scranton brothers’ NHRA Xplōd Sport Compact Racing Series leading 15th career Wally trophy.
“This is just awesome,” said Scranton. “Vegas is a hard track to race on and for us to win there was big. Gary Reed of TRD (Toyota Racing Development) was there, so it was nice to win with him watching. We are trying to win the championship and this will help us. We will keep doing what we have done and make a run towards the championship.”
By winning the WD-40 NHRA Sport Compact Crew Chief of the Race award, Scranton will be honored at the opening ceremonies, Sunday, Aug. 20 at the Palm Beach NHRA Sport Compact Nationals presented by Speed & Truck World, RJ Gators, and Buzz 103.1.
“I use WD-40 on the wheelie bars and to clean rubber off the underside of the car,” continued Scranton. “I also use it to clean the motor and the cylinder walls.”
At each race stop for the NHRA Xplōd Sport Compact Racing Series the WD-40 Company will offer an award to recognize the NHRA Sport Compact Crew Chief of the Race. The winning Crew Chief of the Race will earn $250, a plaque, and will receive recognition during the opening ceremonies at each NHRA Sport Compact Series event and on NHRAsportcompact.com.
