Stiffer Suspension
I'm going to be doing more mods to my baby soon and I wanted to know if anyone had suggestions for a performance suspension. My lude is lowered and I'm satisfied with that, but I want to stiffen it up. Anyone??
if you do a small search on this topic and check the faq. there is loads of information on this.
everyone has an opinion on this subject so if you want bang for buck and just want a stiffer suspension.........kyb's or tokico's will do.
you want actual performance / custom spring rates........ground controls/koni's will do the trick
fancy looking full coilovers are nice.......but aren't the best option unless you really want them

get a rear sway bar. This will help with the preludes infamous understeer problem. A nice set of tires and lightweight wheels are also a great investment for the handling department. If your tires cant handle the output, you'll never be happy with it.
I'm not so worried about my tires, that's my best investment yet, I'm worried about my shocks and struts. Does the camber kit affect the suspension at all? Will I even need my camber kit if I get a new suspension? I'm still learning..

Don't even worry about a camber kit. Places like Discount Tire (for example) will tell you you have to have one, but all you need is a good alignment so long as you're not so low you're touching the ground.

yes, but you dont need one. Most abnormal tire wear comes from having a bad toe, not camber.

It's true... I've had a set of tires for at least 20k miles dropped like 2" and they are showing minimal wear on the inside from camber.
The camber to an extent also helps keep a good contact patch around the corners.

most cars are setup with toe in, the only way you would have abnormal wear on the inside of the tires is if the tires had toe out and you would be able to feel the car wanting to turn if the toe is out, I think you guys must have been running some really hard tires to get 20k out of them dropped 2" with no camber correction

yeah they are cheap federals.. but still... it's minimal. I'm pretty happy with prelude suspension
