That's odd. My computer worked fine with my bros OBD1 ecu, we used crome to make the car hit a 12.3 on the 1/4 from a 12.5. Not bad for a first timer working with some big numbers. All we did was lean out the fuel a little bit in the top end, it stopped flooding. Not only did it run better, it used alot less gas in the 1/4 (cheaper and lighter to run less gas) and there was no smoke anymore going down the 1/4.

Now with the new B we got Evans to tune it. But for my OBD0 turbo setup I want to use turboedit with my laptop, I need to find that site.

Bookmarked .

Did you get there kit? They have the Nokia phone thing aswell and the proper USB and USB 2.0 cables, you might wanna look into them.

Quick edit: http://www.xenocron.com/install/USB-Board.htm You might need to install there USB driver for it to work with your laptop. Worth a try for laptop tuning?

I edited my original post with a link to the driver, worth a try. But I'll keep searching for you.

Yeah, the new chip enables datalogging, even if its just a stock map.

Datalogging is good, stock or not stock. Adleast you can tell what's going on with your engine, and catch some problem prior to something failing. We caught a leaning engine due to a weak fuel pump once just buy using a wideband, it's fun to tune.

I know that some chips allow you to change the data on them using a computer, no chip burner. I lucky have a chip burner, so I won't have to face that issue. Read more into the chipping kit. I beleive Ostrich is a free program no? It displays the gauges right? That's the program your talking about?

I don't know if you have an wideband O2, but get one to do tuning, stock O2 aren't the greatest for output to refine your A/F ratio.

the orstich is a eprom emulator i think u hook it into the jumper, where the chip would be then to the labtop. make changes to the ecu and save to the orstich u dont have to run a chip? how do u do live tuning without an ostrich is there a cable? and i plan on getting a wide band there so much better.

I think ostrich is a ROMulator. Meaning its a chip that goes into the ECU and theres a control box it hooks up to, then goes to the laptop. It enables you to change the maps on the chip without reburning one every time. Eventually, you'll have to get a chip burned though.

i know it sounds like were going round and round but i have read and searched and theres just a few minor thing i don't understand so please bear with me. is there or is there not a cable that plugs into the ecus jumper chip and runs to the laptop. is this not the way to tune on the fly? i would rather tune it the first time and burn one chip than, burn one and then it not be right burn another one. and it be close but i still need to change two things. do u under stand what i'm talking about.

Yeah, its a chip that has a cable attached to it and goes in where the old chip went. Goes to a control box. It allows you to tune on the fly. When your done you take the final file and burn it to a chip and put it where teh ROMulator is. Check out the link I posted above, the wiki there has a ton of information.
