Lets keep it clean and honest fellow H-T peoples.
Ok so I have been reading loooong threads about people being scammed out of their money and others out of their parts while dealing with people here on H-T.
I have sold alot of parts to alot of people on here and have no complaints to report other than the deadbeat wanna be buyers wasting my time taking pics and pulling parts and then turn into a ghost. I know I could wait till the cash is in hand but I try to get the parts ready so there is little waiting to get them shipped. Other than that it's all good here.
Anyway I have this idea.
If you get involved in a transaction with someone here on H-T that you are unsure of or plain want to keep them honest, post the information here.
You can post a link to the item they offered for sale and the details, such as when you sent payment, when seller says item was shipped and when you got the item.
Copy and paste the item description or save it to a notepad incase the scammer decides to edit his post later.
Use paypal when you can. If you can not use paypal use a postal money order not the mom and pop corner store.
Always get the buyer/sellers phone number and speak to them on the phone before trading money/parts. Never use a money wire service such as Western Union with a stranger. If you do and you get scammed your money is gone.
This will help eliminate a scammer from attempting to sell the same item to another person or multiple people.
Above all use some common sense.
If the deal seems to good to be true....Chances are it just might be.
Feel free to add anything you feel may help keep trading here on H-T a safe and enjoyable forum.
Please keep your flaming to a minimum.
Good luck guys and girls and happy trading.
