Resurfacing the head will just make sure the head out flat, a good thing, and it will bump the comp a bit. Use the A6 head gasket/headbolts I beleive for that combo.

That's what I said...use a A6 headgasket and A6 head bolts on your Z6 head. You will need a different timing belt, that's where it gets tricky.

use whatever timing belt that matches the head. y8 head with a6 block = y8 timing belt

...which ZC are you talking about? There's more than one.

get the Z6 metal headgasket

The Y8/Z6 belt works fine but its very very tight,,the 92-95 dx belt also works and is better imo..

also dont forget to remove the oil jet from the block otherwise you'll have no vtec

you take a screw that fits,, then screw it into the jet and pull it out with some vice grips

you know where the jet is ? or do you need a picture?

edit- just check out this thread,it has pics https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=554053

That answers my question and the stuff that's been posted in generally right. You're just making a mini-me. Do you understand why I asked? There's like 10+ different "ZC" motors out there.

Really? Thanks for the tip.
Actually, if you want to split hairs...the 1st gen guys have figured out how to do it with their engines (with the caveat that its sooo not worth the trouble)

Use the timing belt for whatever head u use, the head makes the difference in timing belt application. so D16Z6 head on ZC block use D16Z6 timing belt.
