Best block to sleeve?
Ok, just suppose you wanted to build a motor to be 2.0L+...
Which bottom end is best to sleeve and why?
I've recently heard some very bad things about b20's being "weak" and breaking from even allmotor applications.....
Of course the criteria is a b-series motor, which will likely get a vtec head...
Here are the choices:
b18b
b18c
b16
b17
b20
The other requirement is the cost to convert to vtec, and install piston oil squirters (yes for road racing)... I'll acquire one with scarred cylinders, so which one should I go with? (in theory
)?

.....I don't see no sleeves in there! That would be trick to have a 2.2L b18c from Golden Eagle in jdm land 'tho!
Are you thinkin what I'm thinkin?
there are those that say forged pistons do not need the cooling nearly as
much as the stock cast ones do. 1/4 mile OR road racing.

Is removing the heat from whatever piston (under hard usage for long periods of time) is used a good thing?
Forged piston + oil spray = cooler piston ? (than without oil spray)

There are those (like Willie) who say "better safe than sorry," or call it insurance.....

no offense, but oil sqirters will not save a motor
There are those that also say keeping things TOO cool is a bad thing.
Also that extra oil will cause a power drain as well as increase the amount of
mass the crank has to move.

interesting how your main bearings are black. never seen that before.
Spoon Graphite mains and rods they used them in there N1 engine's I still have 2 more complete sets since they are no longer made
full yellow and full green set ...but the down side is that they cost a pretty penny
...And one nore thing these bearings have some pyramid shaping on the sides to better hold Oil on them..

Is this to say
on honda for adding them to the b series in the first place? Or are they no longer needed when upgrading to forged pistons? Detrimental by 1-2whp in moving that extra oil around?
i give you one guess what american V8 race teams re-machine their blocks to use in terms of bearings........HONDA FACTORY.
