as you may know i have a 91 gs integra still in the process of changing the head for a b16 which has been rather more expensive than what i figured, but i found a used 05 rx8 for 22k. my question is should i keep the teg build it for drag or should i buy the rx8 and have 500 car payments for the next five years?

Yep you could get a really clean 91-92 for that much.

if you're going to get a newer model car, i wouldnt go with an rx8

honestly im not a big fan of the rx8. Id rather get an FD. If I were u, Id buy a used S2K, Sti, EVO, or 350Z. But of course, a honda would be my 1st choice. Its up to u. It takes a lot of money and effort to maintain a a rotary. Plus 500 for a car payment is hella crazy. Once again its up to u... Good luck!

Don't say mazda sucks. Cuz they don't. If anything their suspensions are more better than hondas. Look at the Miata. If a modified miata met up with you, I think it'd tear you to shreds. But hey, maybe your b16 can keep with it right?

I actually looked at the RX-8 and imo, it's pretty nice. Really though, test drive it if you feel its worth having 500 dollar payments for next five years.. However, this monthly payment's gonna HAUNT you when your in a dilemma and REALLY need to fork up some dough.


DA is a reliable car just as long as you take care of it. Well, that goes with any car. But hey, try looking on the pros and cons.

1991 Acura Integra:
-Good gas mileage
-Mechanics can be found like gas stations
-No monthly payments
-Still a B-series
-Body wear after so many tears of weather torment


2006 Rx-8:
-Semi-exotic car
-Under warranty
-comes with LSD
-500/mo payments

That's just to name a few for his situation...

I test drove an RX8, loved it. I'd buy one if i had the money, unlees i found an rx7 for cheaper

If you can afford the rx8 then get it.

 

i'd say stick with a honda the rx8 is kool but gas milage on it is awful. with a s2k you would get more power, reliablity and better gas milage. i think the rx8 does like 17mpg.

First of all...we needa stop hating on other makes...they are our motivation to be faster and faster each day...secondly, keep the integra..the payments will be stressful. build it up for a few months and see how you like it, for all we know, that build integra will spank the rx-8

 

Mazdas do suck. $25k for a Miata that makes a little over GSR numbers. The Miata is a poormans roadster, and is going to have the "more better suspension", but not better by a whole lot. The only people that should be driving those things are 40 year old divorcees. The Rx8 let everybody who was looking forward to a better Rx7 down. Ugly design, no longer a two seater (or two door, whats with that miniature door) and no turbo option pissed a lot of people off. There are a lot of better ways to spend your money.

 

get a used evo and spank all of those. Or get s200 or rsx if you like honda. Honda do have more aftermarket parts for their cars if you decide to mod it later on.

 

IF it was me, i would build up a 94 and up teg for a fun car.

I saw one of those guy's in a red one and a tupé. I was dieing... My buddy (who is funny when u know him) asked : "look's good man where'd u get it" he replied with, "a dealer down the street", my friend was quick to repsond with "I was talking about the the turf up top!.. the haaiir piece man, c'moonnn! lose the Miata!"

It was drama.

if it was me i would buy a 99 to 01 integra gsr or type R and play around with it. example ITR front end conversion i would never buy a mazda though rx8 isnt my top but i hate it. RSX-S, S2000, ITR, iGSR, Civic Type R, etc
