so i have a 98 gsr going n/a and im wondering how a b16 tranny would do, just wanted to ask people who have done this to there gsr's...i heard that the b16 final drive is better than gsr's. and i also heard that when driving 80mph the rpm will be at around 5k rpm, is it worth switching my tranny to a b16?

gsr takes too long to redline i dont like it the b16 redlines faster

 

Yes. The B16 tranny has shorter gear ratios.

 

Spend your $ on a helical ( Quaife or ITR) LSD instead. The GSR tranny isnt long so there's no need to switch it.If you had an LS tranny, than the switch to a B16 tranny would be justified.

 

B16 tranny has a shorter gear ratio compared to a gsr tranny.

 

Final drive on both trannies is 4.4

Let's see... at 65 I'm around 3400 rpms

 

shorter= faster hahaha, b16 + lsd = spankage

 

depend if he was to use it for track, for daily b16 sucks cause of gas mileage
