Koni+GC's or Tein???
Which would be a better set up for my 99Si? I don't race or auto-x, but I want the best suspension in case I do decide to auto-x. I also live in Minnesota, so winter durability is a must. The Koni Yellows and GC's run about $850. The Tein Type-SS coilover system runs $975 and the Type-HA's are $1050. The price difference isn't that much, so I want to do it right the first time. Let me know what you guys think, in particular which one you would go with and why.
Thanks!

GC/Koni is an awesome setup from what I hear. I also heard a rumor that the Tein spring perch threads may rust (not sure how true that is), but I know the GC sleeves will not rust.
I have had Tein HAs almost two years and have had no problems. They are awesome!!!
I daily drive so they definately get wear and tear and have had no rusting or decay issues even with a few snow trips on them.
I have done plenty of mountainside driving as well as a track days on them.
I have had many friends who have upgraded from Konis and GCs to Teins because of the tunability of them for autoX purposes.
The Tein HAs are also very durable. They survived a wall and a rollover with no problems. Please do not ask about that it still hurts. RIP Red EG.
I have had two friends who have had their GCs for a few years and had them get striped, so be careful.
I paid 1225 New for mine back in the day. I know the Tein HAs are going for less now.
I am posting my experiences and not what I heard.
Cheers,
Jayson S.

I have the koni's but I've installed 2 sets of the teins. You cannot even compare the 2 setups, the teins are much much better. I plan to sell my koni's and eibachs after I finish tuning my hondata and getting some teins.
Spray some WD-40 or anti-seize on the threads every 3-4 months and they won't rust. As for maintainence issues, Tein USA now can do all service and overhauls in the US. Just send them to cali. I'd also look into the new Tein Flex systems as they have a coating on the sleeves so you don't have to put your own (WD40). The Flex also has adjustable length dampers which I think is a great feature as it allows you to maintain full stroke while lowering and/or corner-weighting.

I have the TEIN HA and I must say I love the 16 level adjustability. I can use it for the track and for the street. I would definitely buy these again, then again, my friend has GC/Koni, and they are great too.
However, from what I've heard (not necessarily my opinion) true coilovers are always better than coilover sleeves and struts.
