Alright, I'm in the market for a new or used car. I was initially searching for 02-03 s2000s. A couple fell thru. I thought about it and figured I can get a brand new RSX Type S for the same price if not just a bit more. New car is always nice and I'm sure insurance will be cheaper. More practical car as well.

Anyhow, what are the main differences between the 06 models and previous years. I'm assuming the powertrain remained the same.

What do you guys feel are the pros and cons of your rsx?

Motor is acutally different in the 05-06 type-s. 10 more hp. And insurance might be about the same. I was on the same boat as you, I was looking for used 350Z's but there is nothing better than a new car. So thats why I went with the RSX.

 

don't forget the 4.76 final drive! very nice riding and handling car! stock tires sux though! lol... good luck to ya

 

brand new ftw! 02-04<05-06 ~ 210hp (more agressive cams), 2.25" b-pipe, sexy muffler, 4.7 final drive, new body style, 17" wheels. one thing that sucks is k-pro is alot more expensive for the 05-06

 

If I were you, I'd stil buy an S2000.

The RSX has a wrong wheel drive

Then again, it also depends on what you're looking for. RSXes make a fine daily driver.

 

Let me put my personal experience on this topic up. I had both of these sort of. I had a 03 RSX type S and a 01 S2000. Both great cars. I should have just kept my rsx, because you have to remember this alot of money you are spending ,and with an S2000 it sure isn't a daily driver, unless it is sunny where you live everyday. Get a car that is practical and s2000 wear through tires quick. the 06 Type S is an extremely nice car. Just a thought.
