Default f4i race tail

has anyone put a race tail on their street bike. i love the way it looks, i dont ride any passengers and they are cheaper than a targa cover.

but can you use it with a street undertail to keep brake lights and stuff. it looks like you can but i do not work on my bike as much as i work on my car so i thought i would ask you guys

its a 2001 f4i BTW

Well probably buying the tail + paint WONT be cheaper than just buying the Targa pass. seat cover.

its still a little cheaper plus it looks better, i do my own painting and have all my equipment, a quart of paint is cheap.

i am just unfamiliar with the body work of a bike, it looks to me like i can slide the undertail off, put the race tail on and reinstall the undertail. meaning i will not need access to the trunk area as long as my tail light wires are long enough to allow the undertail enough slack to drop out of the way

I have one. the only thing that sucks is that it doesn't fit all that great so it buffets with the wind causing cracks on it.

yeah. you have to dremel an opening for the light and find brackets to hold the light in place. In my application I also had to figure out something for the turn signals.
