Default my new 94 gsr

sup guys, im new to HT and i recently just picked up my new gsr. (new to me) i need some opinions...

get new carbon fiber hood or paint it to match the body?

keep the slipstreams silver or paint them black?

ITR wing or wingless?

how much do HID kits go for and is it plug and play?

1. I think CF hood would be FTW
2. I would keep the slips as is
3. Wingless
4. Plug and play HID kits aren't usually as good as retro fit. But I think you can find oem HIDS for the JDM front end that would be plug and play and oem.
I'm not 100% sure that there are oem hids for the JDM front end if someone could either correct or verify me that would be nice.

Anyway I think your car looks great.

FTW just means "For The Win" its a internet catch phrase. FTW = good. Retro fit simply put is when you take another cars oem hids and fit them into some projector lights that fit into your headlights.

I couldnt agree with this guy more!! Maybe a color matched hood but thast about it. I dont know about jdm lights but i know usdm lights arent meant for hids so there is alot of glare and you lose light because the reflector inside the housing.

i say leave it as is.. it's clean, very clean. i'd paint the cf hood like that too.. especially with that color. because a regular cf color'd hood would look weird IMO on that color of paint. but to each in his own.. do what you want..

nice car..how much did you pick it up for? tell you the truth it looks good the way it is

if you do repaint the hood i say have it recleared..i would say colormatch it..but face it carbon hoods dont have the best fitment and colormatching it will just show off the flaws those flaws

btw: theres a pic of a black on black dc in my profile if you wanted to get an idea of what it would look like with black wheels

looks nice, CF hood would look nice, I would ditch the slipstreams, and keep it wingless

the jdm itr HID ballasts wont fit if you have the 94-97 huge ABS motor

looks really good but like someone mention before, ditch the slips for some nicer rims. Those tires look huge for some reason (60 series?). Nice car nonetheless. and congrats!

thanks everyone! if anyones curious, i actually traded my 92 mr2 turbo for this because i needed more room for school and something more convinent.

now as for my decision...

i was thinking of going with whichever would save me more money. carbon fiber hood or just getting the paint matched, either or. anyone have a rough idea of which would save me more money?

as for the wingless or ITR, i might just take the time to throw on the ITR wing and see how i like it since i have it laying around. if not, then im back to wingless.

for the rims i was thinking of ditching the slips and looking into the 16in GT3 gold with polish lip or bronze with polish lip.

what do you guys think? ?

btw, the tires are 50 series lol.

HID go for around $250.00-$300.00 for a decent set and yes they are plug and play. Takes less than 10 min to install it.

If you have the paint code, I'd say get the hood color matched if it fits perfectly. If it doesnt fit good, then ditch the hood and find either a cf or an jdm oem hood. I like the polished slips, but I personally think those 15" polished slips look a bit small. I wouldn't go with painting them black either...you need some type of contrast. I think the Racing Hart CPR's (or rota track R
's) 16" white with a polished lip would look straight up SEX!

You can buy aftermarket hid kits that are plug and play for anywhere around $150-$350 depending on the kit. If I were you, I'd look around for the jdm itr hid head lights to replace the ones you have right now.

Nice ride.

I say re-clear the hood; and keep it wingless unless you already have the holes on the hatch.
Keep the Slips. If you do decide to ditch them, let me know ;P

I say: 1) keep the hood the same color as the body
2) paint the slipstreams black or get a dif set of black rims
3) hid kits normally go for $300-$400 and yes they are plug-n-play

Just redo the carbon fiber...theres a forum on how to in the jdmuniverse section on how to do that. here it is.
http://www.jdmuniverse.com/for...43053

i say keep the carbon fiber..wingless. keep them polished. and i have a question

i remember seeing this car for sale. that front end coversion he said was an SIR-G..which means he should have chrome..did the previous owner black them out? if so, i like the look alot.
