I have the K&N RU-2820 universal filter fitted to the stock filter neck in my stock airbox, w/ a tube that ends behind the turn signal just like the Comptech Icebox. I like it alot, won't ever have to buy a filter again, sounds barely louder than stock, no fear of hydrolock, and looks totally stock.
I also removed that little plastic piece on the stock intake tube and plugged the hole w/ a Mobil 1 quart oil bottle cap.

i saw a study on the best airfilters, between blitz, hks, h&n, and apexi. the apexi did the best, so i bought their replacement filter, to try and mate it to my aem cai.
here is the link: http://www.gtrowner.com/induction.html
unfortunately, it does not come with a small piece of piping (flange), with a thick outer lip, which is mandetory in order to mate it to any piping. the lips would need to go to the filter, and have holes drilled thru it, and matched to the screw holes on the filter. unfortunately (again) most muffler shops dont have piping as wide as the Apexi filter. so now i have a k&n that needs to be replaced cuz its too dirty to clean, and a new apexi filter, that i cant bolt on either. even home depot didnt have the proper flange....
here are some pics... if you can make the filter work in your box, then you will have the best filter.

I have the filter and the filter adapter hookied up to my stock intake arm right now but it is not in the box. Do you think that I sould hook the box back up and put it inside? And I know that the A'PEXi filter won't hook up to your AEM CAI cause the adapter is like 3" wide and I dont think the pipe is more than 2.5"

Ha! No such thing! I had a K&N cone filter that was positively filthy. I had forgotten the last time I cleaned it and when I looked it up, it had been over 30,000 miles and at least a couple of years!
It was really a mess but I got it clean. I used the solution in the kit once and wasn't all that happy with the result so I hosed it down with Simple Green (which is a mild degreaser) and let it soak in a 5-gallon pail for a few hours. After gently rinsing it out, I noticed a serious improvement but I still could see where it could be cleaner so I used the Simple Green again, let it soak a while and then rinsed it out ... with a LOT of water! The filter looked almost new.
I re-oiled it and installed it on my car.
Oh, and the great thing about K&N filters is that they filter well even when filthy. I had a sample of my (Red Line) oil tested and the amount of silica in the oil (which is how they measure the dirt getting into your motor) after 7,200 miles was much lower than average for an oil that had been in a car for only 3,000 miles!
Don't give up on that old K&N just yet!

I just put in the K&N E-2427, which is specifically made for G3 integras, and it seems to work good (check out the pic I attached). It's a bitch to put on though...but I do notice better throttle response. The only other bad thing about it is that it's kinda pricey, got mine for $69.
