just get a new aftermarket cd player... on our 99 prelude we had that PE0 error 3 times.. good thing it was under warranty.. I finally got pissed off at having to argue w/ the dealer over the use of CD-R's (it didnt play store bought cd's either.. spit them back out and displayed PE0 error)... anywya after 3 decks (stock, and 2 under warranty replacements) I said f*&k it.. dont wanna wait at the dealer for this warranty work that keeps breaking anymore.... so after 3 stock decks.. got a Clarion unit and hasnt given us trouble since...
The acura dealer charges about 75 bucks to remove your radio and reinstall it. You can do it yourself and get the code from them. Make sure you get the serial number off of it. This will get you in the right direction at least http://integra.cyberglobe.net/caraud...grams/removal/
Unless you are really attached to that crappy stock head unit, or you don't have much money I would highly recommend going with an aftermarket head unit. The sound difference is amazing, even if you only spend $160-$170 on the new one (Kenwood). If you don't want a new one, I would suggest going to the dealer if the code isn't working for you.
Good Luck,
Jon

he is not saying he needs the security theft code.. in his post he says he has it... he is saying that it has a PE0 error.. which I think it meant that it cant read the CD or theres a read error.. i forget.. anyway just get a new head unit and save yourself the headache.. when we had that PE0 on our prelude.. it would spit the cd back out.. burned cds, store bought cds, nothing.. tried using a cd lens cleaner.. nope.. got the thing replaced under warranty same thing happened about a year later... get an aftermarket unit...
