Cylinder head fell from about 4 feet on its corner... pics here
well i had it on some rubbermaid plastic storage containers, and the bottom one gave way and the cylinder head slid off and crashed to the ground
. well i was suprised with the damage, but it doesnt look half bad. i just dont want to spend the time to get it repaired because this is the same head i have been trying to sell.
kinda ticks me off now that i have to lower the price big time...

how much damage is this. i think its not bad because its where the seal goes...

If it were me:
I would use a file on the flat cap bearing surface to see how flat that area is and get it true.
re tap or heli coil the bolt hole.
and use a lot bit of Honda bond to stop the oil leak your going to get....
That is the dead end for the cam so the cam does not ride on the surface " thank god "
Just the cam plug goes there. The biggest battle will be to get the cam bearing cap back on flat and with the correct crush not to be to tight or loose. Then to get a good torque on those " easy to break bolts".
Plastiguage the cam for sure!!!!!!!!!!

How do you plan to do that? Aluminium can not be magnafluxed its not a magnetic metal?

I don't know about that one. To pay to have it welded and remachined might be more than the bare casting is worth. You could try welding it yourself if you have some experience welding aluminum castings, as it is quite a bit different than welding steel. I am sure damage worse than that has been repaired succesfully though--especially for a one off race head off an important vintage racer or something along those lines.....

Really sucks to hear, but me personally... I'd never use that head again. Would make a nice centerpiece on a coffee table or something though.

i did that with my 2.0L block. those squishy coozy things fit perfect in them. perhaps i may just put a slab of glass on it.

Search for B20/VTEC or variations of that for more information than you can read in a day. There are issues with stock B20 sleeves apparently, is what it comes down to.
