my friend is going to get a white 98 GSR and he already is planning lets just say some off the wall **** to it .... like 18" chrome wheels, clear corners, body kit (not lip) etc. how can i persuade this kid to keep it clean and stock!!!!! i keep showing him pics of an ITR, but he just sold his 99 firebird that was on 20" chromes..... i dont understand.... all i want to do is save an integra from the worst possible scenario!!!!

while you guys write what you think about this scenario, i'll throw up some pics of my best friend and his brothers integras....

also.... was leather an option in 98 on the GSR????

sorry not very educated on the integras, cuz this one does not have leather, and it has Civic seats (the one pillar on the outside of the headrest that connects down to the seat)... and also the valve cover's paint is chipping away, along with the heat shield rusting... Venom ECU is installed, but its just kinda hangin there in the engine bay.

I believe GSR's only came with leather.

Dont worry about the paint on the VC, that is pretty common. But did the VC say VTEC on it??? If not check the engine code on the block, it should say B18C, if it is B18A or B18B it is an LS motor.

Get the vin that will also tell you if it is atrue GSR (dc2 or dc4).

The ECU thng kinda worries me, I am guess it is the "power contro module" (http://www.venom-performance.com/nf/html/v400.cfm)

No some of them came cloth. I don't remember, I think they were an option at one point and then went to leather only.

As far as your buddy being a ricer, it happens. Some people are gay, some are ricers whatever. He is going to do what he wants. I personally don't like rice, but at the same time it's his car not anyone else's. He is paying for everything (or mommy and daddy whatever) so it should be how he likes it. Leave him alone and if nothing else after his car has been "pimped" bring him to a H-T meet and let him get flamed in person.

The ECU should not be in the engine bay, it should be behind the passenger side kick panel where the bracket is. Or like mine, on the passenger side floorboards because it comes out at night and into the house with me. Like said above the valve cover paint chips, nothing you can really do about that. You can paint it, but he will probably get one that says "Type R" to match the rest of his rice.

Leather was an option on only GSR's, then it became standard on all after '98.

true story, wasnt it a dealer installed option, i know at my acura dealer back in he day a buddy of my pops' was installing leather in an SSBP gsr that had cloth. he said they do it alot
