Its not the relay.
If the main relay was going bad it wouldnt start up for a minute and die. It just wouldnt start.

To the OP, does the car turn on everytime and then die or does it crank and crank and sometimes fire up for just a second?

Is the car throwing any codes?
The first thing I would do is double check that all your sensors and grounds are connected.

YEA IT CRANKS AND CRANKS THEN FIRES UP FOR ABOUT 5 SEC. THEN SHUTS OFF. IT WONT STAY RUNNING LONGER THAN ABOUT 5 SEC. WHEN I TRY TO START IT I HOLD THE GAS TO THE FLOOR TO MAKE IT RUN AS LONG AS I CAN BUT IT JUST BACKFIRES LIKE IT AINT GETTING AIR TO THE MOTOR THEN STALLS OUT.

my buddy rebuilt a gsr w/type r internals and kinda did the same thing, well we found out that the plugs were to cold of a heat range and the more fuel that was added basically flooded the car out

the main relay controls the fuel pump it was doing the same thing to my motor i changed it and it was fine after that the pump and everything would turn on but then the second it started the pump would shut off and the fuel would stop being pumps im telling you try it it will still start with the main relay going bad just wold hold a charge long enough for everything to stay lite! but whatever your choice!
