alright my friend drives a 94 LS and its been sitting in his garage for about a year now. he turns on his car and warms it up for like 5 mins everyday but recently there has been a clicking noise coming from the engine. what could this be?? no CELs

 

what kind of clicking noise?

 

the click sounds like when u push ur mouse button. it clicks couple times then the motor vibrates a lil. we didnt leave the car on that long because we were scared it would make it worst. but what do you guys think?

 

well you dont explain that much info jason. need a lil more. like valve clicking? or what?

and try to listen to where the clicking noise is coming from.

 

how do i know if its valve clicking?? it kinda sounded like the top right part of the engine? i'll check it out tomorrow

top part of the engine? how hard is it? like sound really bad? might be your valve clicking.

nah.. the only thing i could think of is its been sitting there for a while.. but iono if that would affect it

It could also be the injectors. You can hear injectors clicking on many cars, but since the one you're describing has been sitting for so long, crap may have built up in them making them louder.

 

well heres the story... i started up my car this morning and i didnt hear any clicking noise for about the first 2 mins of warming up.. the it warms up a little more and bout 3-4 mins of warming up i hear the click.. it clicks and the engine vibrates a little.. and then it pauses then it clicks and vibrates.. this is all coming from it SEEMS the top part of hte engine.. the video here iono if u can hear the click but try it i'll trya gain tomrorow thanks for the help jason says it could be the motor mount phong..

aite what should i look for when i drive it?

 

like drive normally down teh block, see how it feels, is it normal to you, etc, if you wanan know if your mount is still good, open your hood, leave it there and tell jason to look at it and drive it slowly, see how it goes

 

sounds like maybe an injector maybe clogged up is the noise coming from more of the fuel rail side or under the valve cover?

This is what I was going to say. Or else something is loose and "bumping" against something else.

 

is really hard to tell from the video, if you drive it and it feels ok then you shouldnt worry, but if like idle bad and other things, bring to your mechanic and tell him to take a look.

i'll check that tomorrow and see if i can get a better clicking video

 

i hate problems especially when u dunno what it is. always gotta drive and hope that the car isnt goin break down. hate that feelin
