Default Adding Your Own Navigation

Ok my salesman emailed today and said they will be getting the black SI i wanted at the end of the month except it doesnt have navigation. So i said expletive it and told him I would take that one, and with the money I save i'll get the lip kit and foglights for it. So my question is, how hard is it to install aftermarket navigation (the double din like the factory)? And where have you gotten the dash kit for it? Everybody has made it sound so hard changing out the radio, but honestly i don't like the look of the factory radio.

Thanks

I would go with just a portable one. Garmin Nuvi 360 is a good one and portable. Plus you be saving a few $$$, compare to the ones you have to install. Just a thought

search the forums. there have been quite a few posts about it. some say u can get the dash piece from honda, others say u cant. pay a shop to do it because then if they expletive something up, THEY have to fix it. isnt the navi only $1500? they must be giving u a hell of a deal for the lip kit and fogs to be bought and installed on ur car

no the navi comes to about $2000 and i want it but i dont want to wait another 3 months or whenever, the lip kit only comes to about $1100 or whatever so ill go with that. and i changed my mine again about the fogs cause im not paying $600 for them. i looked around and people have different "opinions" on what can and cant be done so i was hoping to catch someone whose already installed aftermarket navi systems. i know ive seen a few around here

well i foudn the stereo install kit on ebay for $80 thats comes with everything including the wiring harness.....the steering wheel adapter is another $50 and the pioneer 6.5 dd i want is $1500 on best buy....there's my santa list right there

there are no audio expresses around here....this is clarksville....they charge out the *** for everything...i'm good with wiring so i'll do it just wanted to know how difficult it looked cause some people made it sound impossible, but once i saw the harness on ebay it doesnt look any difficult that another car

how far is clarksville from memphis? were u at the HT meet in nashvegas?

was the lip kit installed and done with for $1100? honda.com shows it for 1400 then install. good deal if u got it for 1100 installed. and im not getting the fogs because the injen CAI filter sits right behind the drivers side fog light housing, so im going to make a snap of some sort so i can take the cover on and off so the filter can get better air while at the track

i asked my dealer about it when i first got my FG1 back in november, they said nope, it can only come with the car .. (at the time i thought it was total BS but becuase it was new car i was still skeptical of that answer...

but yeah, just buy aftermarket, better anyways

yes they are both 2 diffrent units. One is the avic-d2 and the other is the avic-s1. Its a personal take along unit. its great I have one and I love it. Most people get the free unit and sell it for 300 or more to bring there price below a grand for there d2
