Default Overheating only under steady throttle...

Lately my car's temp has been going over the middle line of the temp gauge. It won't go all the way to red.

Here's what's happening:

- Car heats up if I stay at 80mph @ 4K rpm, constant throttle pressure.
- Car won't heat up below 80 mph or 4K rpm, even at constant throttle pressure.
- I am not loosing any coolant, and there is no additional coolant in the overflow.
- Nothing was changed in the car, so definitely something's broken.

Other than that the car stays fine.

Any ideas?

Hows the waterpump and is the radiator clogged with dirt, maybe some problems with those.

So, if you drive the car for 7-10 mins under 4k, your car doesn't heat up? Or does the sensor just not register it? And how does the gauge move? Does it fluctuate above/below 4k? Or does it stick? What does it do at idle? etc. etc.

I can drive the car all day without it heating up under 4k. I can even take the car to the strip and do a typical drag run and it won't heat up at all.

The gauge moves normally, no fluctuation. Acts normal at idle too.

The water pump has around 8K miles on it. I'm throwing in a fresh thermostat, and have the radiator flushed and cleaned. Let's see what that does.
