hey guys (and girls)
I am trying to buy a type r flywheel, and this guy sent me some pics. i wanna know if theres a way to tell the difference between an itr flywheel and a regular flywheel. here are the links to the pics he sent me: http://members.shaw.ca/allanc/images/flywheel1.jpg http://members.shaw.ca/allanc/images/flywheel2.jpg
also, is there anything noticeably wrong with this flywheel upon visual inspection? lemme know, thanks everyone!

When I get a chance to get home, I've got my GS-R flywheel I can look at and I used to have a brand new ITR flywheel that I sold (it shipped at 16lbs - box and all).
It looks like the one I brand new one I used to have (number pattern), and the friction surface looks OK...no deep rifts or chunks removed.

If you go with an aftermarket flywheel, keep in mind that aluminum flywheels are prone to warpage caused from moisture... chromoly flywheels are NOT prone to this. They are also safer for NOS and a tad heavier. My chromoly Exedy weighs in at about 10 lbs. Remember, your flywheel CAN be too light for your own good. There is a reason TODA, JUN, SPOON, etc... flywheels come with a a warning sticker showing that they are for racing use only or off-road use only. It's there for a reason.

i dont plan on gettin one of those lightweight flywheels... this itr flywheel i think will do me just fine... its what, 5lbs lighter than my LS flywheel? not rediculously light like those aftermarket ones... plus i think this guy only has 12k km on it... km cuz he's in canada, so i dont think it's got too much wear on it... regardless, i'll get it resurfaced cuz i'm gettin a new clutch too... thanks for all your help everyone
