Default H23 Final drive on H22 tranny

Hello

I'm looking for swapping a H23 4.266 final drive on a H22 tranny. Has someone ever tried this here ? how hard is it ? do a few parts need to be replaced ?

thanks

you would need to use the m2s4 (h23) countershaft and be sure that the h22 uses the same clearances for all the gears

I was gonna say teh same thing. 4.266 is the same number whether its in a h23 tranny, h22 tranny, accord wagon tranny or whatever...

yeah they do use the same final drive...i think maybe he was just talking about 5th gear...get one out of an accord, or just buy a euro-r accord tranny!

oh ...and if you have never opened a tranny case....i would highly advise you get someone else to...i is a bitch swaping out **** like that...i tried to build a custom jdm h22, usdm h23, and f22 tranny. i was using 1st and 2nd out of a jdm h22 tranny...3rd and 4th out of an h23 and 5th out of an f22 tranny. it would be a good tranny for drag and a good tranny for interstate driving! but then...it turned in to a disaster and now all the gears are sitting in a bucket at home! lol
