car over heating!
well my buddys car has been over heating lately and its full of water and I dont see the waterpump leaking one bit. Like we be driving down road turn heater full blast and dont even feal heat coming out of it. I was wondering if you all think its the thermostat??? I know the fans are coming on....need help asap
Start it up cold and monitor the two radiator hoses nearer to the radiator. One will heat up first then as the thermostat opens the other will heat up to almost an equal temp, the fan switch is near the thermostat screwed into the aluminum housing, it is getting hot even though the water may not be flowing so the fan will come on, do not turn on the AC, the thermostat may be ok but you have air in the system but I vote for a thermostat, I do more Honda stats than any other car.
You can take the thermo out boil some water with a thermometer in it...put a stick/pencil/rod across the top of the pot and hang the thermostat from a string into the water, don't let it touch the sides because that may give you a falsh conclusion...now watch the thermo I believe it should open at about 190 degrees

make sure the radiator is bled properly. Even a little air in the system will make you overheat.
