i have f***ed wires, wut you suggest?
ok my friend prev. had the car. he had his own little sound system setup but he took it out and f***ed up the wires. everything is cut and looks like it was chewed up by a gang of teething babies. yea looks bad, anyone have suggestions on wut to do? i was thinking about going to the bone yard and cutting out the wiring for the head unit and cutting all the **** wiring and resplicing everything...here is a pic.
yea looks like the original harness and then some more **** wiring added, so confusing with so many color wires that shouldnt be there. asking again, anyone with simple suggestions?
thanks

go to circuit city or best buy and buy a reverse honda harness (about $18).. itll look the same as the oem harness you have in the pic, except itll have long enough wires to hook it back to stock.. just cut the oem harness off completely, then match up the wires with the reverse harness by pin location and connect or splice them in.. once youre done, you shouldnt have anymore problems..
thanks, yea that would be easier than the bone yard..

You can find the wire colors online (like at the12volt.com etc) or in the Haynes manual.
Circuit City doesn't sell reverse harnesses. You'd have to go to Best Buy or preferably the junkyard since it's much cheaper. I suggest against it though for the simple reason that it's pointless unless you're putting the stock stereo back in. What you want to do instead is to buy any radio adapter harness, might as well be the Honda harness, cut off the car side and then just wire up the universal side. Then when you want to buy a stereo, you will only need the universal to stereo side harness and it's plug and play.
If it's over your head, you can pay Circuit City to do a hardwire for about $30. I say Circuit City because they will actually solder it.

What needs to be done will depend on what you want to do, reinstall the stock HU or install an aftermarket HU.
If you are reinstalling a stock HU the do as dmacaalay suggests pick up a rev. harness like this... http://www.scosche.com/scosche...A02RB it has universal car audio wire colors, and here is a pin-out and color code for the cars wiring... http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.pdf
If you are installing an aftermarket HU then connect the HUs harness directly to the cars oem radio harness, the HU harness will have universal car audio wire colors, use the installdr.com wire colors for connections, nothing else is needed other then a better connecting of the aftermarket HU harness to the oem radio harness.
A direct connection was made to the oem harness but all that was hooked up was acc. power, [red wire to yellow/red] ground, [black wire to black] and the front speakers outputs, [grays and whites] and they are connected to the oem rear speaker wires.
The oem radio harness also has the front speaker leads a constant power a light lead and a power ant. control lead.

ok sorry you guys have me confused here, so if i want to install an aftermarket HU, then i want a universal honda harness, not a reverse harness, and the universal harness will just have to be sliced onto the oem wires, then its just plug and play from there?...ma bad if im going all wrong here but damn...ha

If your stock radio harness is intact and wired correctly. You just need the universal wired up to the head unit and it wil plug and play. The other option is to just get the "universal" and do a straight splice to the car harness.
