car stalls on the freeway, then solid light on ecu
1989 Honda CRX DX. Engine was converted from DPFI to MPFI running a d16a6 for four years now.
Driving down the freeways at 70 mph and car shuts off. Try to start car again and it cranks over and over but no fuel. Ecu shows a solid red light.
Main relay has been replaced and I have tried another pm6 ecu that I know is good and had the same results.
The fuel pump is NOT turning on. Any ideas why?

solid led = bad ecu...happend to me before.. sorry
you could check the fuses though,,the ecu fuse, hazzard fuse,,these are under the hood and then check the # 14 or #13 ?? fuse under the dash......

That is bizare. I would check all the fuses with a test light, the go from there. It doesn't make sense the light stays on..... Wish I could help you, more.
I like the test light but you will need a volt meter at the fuel pump, do you know how to test the main relay and how to bypass it, do a search on this site. That is it, power to fuse, main relay, fuel pump and its ground secure, volt meter will be better for sure.
Remember on a Honda, the pump only comes on for a few seconds when you turn the key on then it stops, you have to recycle the key to off and back on to make another test instead of cranking and cranking to hurt the battery or just bypass the main relay fuel pump portion, one of the two relays in there.

Possibly a body ground somewhere that only contacts after it gets hot? Also main relays are trick. Recommend going to the junkyard and getting 3 or 4 out of junked ef's and trying different ones and see if this happens with all of them, then you can truly eliminate that relay. I have 2 fine and dandy main relays for my 90 Integra and every few weeks the fuel pump does not prime. I change to my other relay and it starts right up and drive for a few more weeks. I just change the relay every time this happens.
I have a boxful of main relays and none of them will help the car starts, which leads me to believe it is not the main relay.
Anyone ever have a fuel pump fail? This may be the problem but does little to explain the light on the ecu. The ecu is making me think it is a bad ground or relay or something. Is there a separate fuel pump relay or just the one inside the main relay?
