installing s2k seats on a 5th gen lude!!!
I did it. There is no write-up on it, it involved butchering the stock rails and swapping them over to the S2000 seats, then using aircraft grade bolts to bolt them on. I made my friend do most of the work because they gave me a headache trying to get to work right. But man are they awesome.
Hi - just joined the forum.
I have a JDM imported Gen 4 VTEC that I have fitted S2k seats into.
Basically, Honda seats appear to use the same cushion pans but with different squabs and seat rails.
To fit mine, i dissassembled the S2K seats and my lude seats. Used my ludes cushion pan with original slide rails, and then mated the S2K squab to the ludes recliner mechanism and pivot bracket.
Just de-trim all the hog rings on the cushion pans to remove the foams and seat covers, and transfer the S2K parts to the lude pan. You will need to remove some of the S2K squab hog rings too to access the pivot bolts and mechanism fixings.
Both seats use the same mountings and fixings.
This took me about 2 hours in total.
They look fantastic once fitted!
There is an article within this site in the CRX/Del Sol section, that covers the basics.
The only problem I have found is that the ludes inner pivot bracket sits about 5mm lower than the S2K one. This makes the squab tilt inboard very slightly, but is hardly noticeable.
My understanding so far is that using Civic EK9 cushion pans will remedy this situation, as their pivot brackets are shared with the S2K.
You might also need to transfer the S2K's cushion pan outer bolster support wire to the lude/EK9 pan too, as this adds support to the outer cushion bolster and stops it from flexing.
Once I have figured out how to post pics, ill do that if anyone is interested!
Good luck
