Default Tried to tint my gauges

Welp, i searched and found all the topics about tinting gauges and i started today. Got my water/temp and clock out no problem, but for the life of me cant get the tach/speed gauge out. I applyed the cellophane to the first three and went to put them back in and it looked like a little darker green. I saw that some people used purple, but that is a little bit to purple for me so what other colors did everyone else use, im looking for a blue. Also do i apply it to the plasic piece of the actually gauge?

i used a couple of layer of the film and got a candy blue kinda color. You gotta sandwich it between the the VFD display and the plastic that covers it. I cut it using the plastic piece as a stencil and then used a light bead of super glue to make it stick.

For the speed tach you just gotta work that bottom front edge over the lip IIRC and then it should just rotate out toward you. You know that whole geometry stuff like getting a triangle outta a rectangle...

now that I look back Im kinda ready to switch to purple film. And started doing some leds in the switches look way pimp.

what works best is go to your local theatre supply company. And ask for gels. They are a tinted plastic made to change the color of light. Should work better

well we have no theatrical supply shops in town that i know of however, i have a quick question though. When i took the fuel/temp gauge apart i lit it up by itself and the lights inside the glass were green. I thought they were supposed to be white and thats what the tinted plastic piece was for that the gauges rest against.
