Default Inspection Related...VIN Stored in ECU?

Ok, so I wanted to know:

Is it true or false that the Honda ECU's contain the VIN number coded in them for inspection purposes. OBD0,OBD1,OBD2.A,OBD2.B??

I am going off of general experience, many cars have the VIN in the ECU for updating purposes, making security type items, keys, radio code, whatever, I would not think that it will be considered an inspection item in your state, again this could be a security issue during a scanner inspection which is required in some states, using a scanner that is for other reasons, VIN ID, I am not sure of that one.

Havent seen the term OBD2 A or B, OBD3 or CAN is the latest.
