600RR won't crank?!??!
a friend of mine is selling his 03 600RR (1082 miles on it) to another friend of mine...and, we can't get it to crank. The bike has been sitting a while and hasn't been riden. All of the fairings were removed and we spent an hour putting them back on and my friend was going to test ride it before paying. We tried to crank it...and it just turned over and over and wouldn't crank. The only noticeable problem we can see is that the fuel pump is no priming. We tinkered with it a bit...took most of the plastics back off and checked the 2 main harness plugs and the cluster plug..and they were fine wiht no pushed out pins or bent pins. It's got fuel, the battery isn't dead, it's in neutral, and everything we can see is plugged up. We checked the 20amp EFI fuse..and it was fine. There are 3 relays under the left side fairing, at the main fuse box...and they aren't clicking..not sure what they're for though. So...yeah....we have no clue.
The bike was supposed to be ridden over to a finance company tommorrow, but...hell, if it can't run..i think my friend is gonna back out of the deal...which will **** my other friend off. It's a good deal for the bike, $4500...it's never been dropped except at a gas station on the day it was bought...and it didn't hit the ground, it just tipped over and hit a metal pole (no cracks...just a scrath or two)...some billet aluminum/led front turn signals, frame sliders, and a jardine slipon. i mean, other than not cranking...it's had the plastics removed (shittily) and that's gotta get some attenion...but, i'm just trying to keep peace between the two in this ordeal.
So...anyone got any ideas, or suggestions as to what to check? We went over the little owners manual troubleshooting chart...with no luck...and we're not bike savy by any means...but we all 3 know our way around just about anything mechanical...

Yep. Put it in 2nd, pull the clutch in, and get your buddy (or buddies) to push you down the street. When you're up to a bit past a jogging pace, drop the clutch. Be sure that the ignition switch is on, and the run switch is set to on.

if you took it all apart, most likely you put the bank angle sensor back on upside down. This is located on the top fairing behind the headlights. Just take it back apart and flip it the other way. This sensor will cause the fuel pump to not prime

none of those were touched/changed in any way. we ONLY took off the fairings and headlight.
we had the bike cranked a couple weeks back with just plugging in the 2 main connectors and the cluster...and it was fine.
and as for the bank angle sensor...um, i really don't think we ever touched it...
