Default followed a squid today leaving town. interesting experience..

Well today I decided to ride down to a car show they had going on here. Took some pics, looked around, then left. Well on the way home I see a guy on a sportbike way up ahead so I caught up and just leaving main street here he does a wheelie (a **** poor one at that) and speeds on up to the light. Well I get closer and see that he has a t-shirt on, jeans, low top sneakers, gloves and a helmet (more gear then a lot of people I see). Well he's not consistent with his speed at all cause in the 25 zone he went 25. In the 35 zone he hit the throttle and caught up to the car in front of us and was going at least 50-60. We get to the light stop again. He's reving his lil 600 and I can't hear him over my nice deep sounding liter v-twin Anyways we take off with 2-3 cars in front. I though about burning him off the line but there's cars ahead, not worth it. Well he decides to and is literally 2ft from the car's bumper in front of us. Well I catch back up (just because the cars are slowing him down) and turns out he's making the same turn once again as I am. It's a little backroad here and it has a real nice s-turn in it. Well he makes the turn (I see he's shaky and even locked the rear a little) and takes off like a bat out of hell. I decide what the hell. Decide to follow cause there's noone around. Then we get to the s-turn. ****** ****** slows down to like 25 mph. I would've easily flew by but he didn't have a solid line through the turn. Wasn't even leaning properly. his bike was leaned and he was like counter leaning, and well I couldn't see around the turn. I can easily do that turn without being slowed down at about 60-70mph without breaking a sweat. so I'm basically outside of the lane and coming out of hammers it once again but I'm not following cause now we're in a residential area and well what's the point of doing 100 up a hill that's perfectly straight and there's a stop sign at the end.

Thankfully he went another direction at the stop light but man oh man I've never seen such irradict riding as well as someone who flat out can't turn. All the guys I know are either dragging knee or peg around turns if not really close to it. Just hitting the throttle every straight line is so boring and stupid. Don't get me wrong, dragging away from a light or at a strip is fun, but turns > * squids ftl

Did you think he was going to go down, and that is why you trailed him? Way to be the bigger man, man!

should have done a road rash kick and then taught him about the lessons of always wearing his gear.

getting kicked off your bike with no leathers on would suck.

I wondered if he thought he was gonna be like oh my gixxer600 owned a liter bike yo! Would've been cake to follow in the straights but that's stupid especially in town. the turn I could've but not worth the risk just to show a squid who's boss. It was a good looking bike though. the black and purple/red or whatever you wanna call it.

not sure if you're being a smart *** or what. I never even said I'm better, just said I could've easily passed but um ok thanks. I've never followed some squid before. I'm always following my friends that have been riding for years and do lots of track days. I can be on their asses when we ride but this has nothing to do with me. was just commenting on the fact that we joke lots about squids and seeing one that fits the match perfectly was funny

ok yeah can't tell with the internet and having to type things out. it wasn't necessary to pass him cause I know I could've and it would've done nothing other then make the situation quite dangerous. even after the first turn where I could see through the next and saw nothing coming... still not worth it.

I am still new to street bike, and try to ride safe and consistent, but this guy sounds liek a n00b FTL. In time he will become a statistic, and hopefully learn his lesson without hurting himself too bad, or anyone else for that matter.

Can the mod please move this to the kills area. Good job mang.. but you should've just pulled up past him and have him try to tag you. Then when he goes down, we'd have more parts available on Ebay.

Muahaha...interesting story. Way to be the bigger man! I squided to breakfast yesterday with t-shirts, jeans, boots, gloves, and helmet. I felt so naked. I hit a top speed of 35 mph! I got passed by a couple Harley Riders and as they passed they looked at me like why the hell was I going so slow?
