just letting everyone know that you should go to Honda and make sure you dont have a missed up transmission like me...if your under 100k or 7 years since you have gotten the car then your fine...Just go to Honda and they should give you a Brand New Tranny...
Honda never send me home anything for the past 4 or 5 years about the tranny problem now i have to pay $3,100 for a rebuilt Transmission...

wrong answer my friend
1998,1999, and 2002 cars are not covered under any extended power train warranty.
only the 2000 and 2001 cars had a warranty extension on the transmission for 7 years or 100K miles.
Giving out the right information owns you
If you have a 2000 or 2001 accord and you paid for a transmission repair, you can submit it to honda for reimbursement.

Let me repeat the correct information that has already been mentioned in this thread...
Honda NEVER issued a recall. They simply extended the warranty to 7 years/100,000 miles for '00 and '01 Honda V6 transmissions.

And I am now very familiar with that warning light. My car has been inspected by a Honda dealershp and they offered to replace it at regular prices.
We towed it back home. Engine's fine.
A similar car for sale locally, also a 2001, has a bad transmission. I'm considering asking Honda nicely to evaluate the situation out there, one year, but that can spoil a reputation.
Take that as you will, I am just noting a coincidence. Register your used Honda with them, who knows what prizes you might win.
I got a free airbag replacement after 18 years of driving with a recalled airbag. That program is still active.
