d16y7 main girdle rod bolt creance problems!!!!!! PLEASE HELP
Hey guys i need some help im putting together my y7 bottom with eagle h-beams and i jus tried to spin the motor over and noticed that the arp rod bolts hit the main girdle. I knew that i would have to notch the block but never really heard of having to notch the main girdle. I dont think it will really hurt anything by doing this but i jus wanted a second opinion or if anyone knows of another stock d series girdle i could use that would have more clearance let me know, or are they all the same. thanks
hitting the girdle? Yeah, the block will have to be notched but in my d16a6 the girdle clears with not much room to spare.
well i couldnt find anything but i know for sure the rods and bolts are for my application and everything was installed correctly so i jus notched it and it. it seems to be fine and the one piece main girdle is already overkill for a d series anyways so i think it'll be fine.
i it dont matter any more cuz i put a bad oil pump on it and had shitty oil pressure and know it knocks!!!! im not even motivated to do anything with the motor so im going to sell the pistons and rods which are still perfect and then im going to da a kinda rare and strange swap (f22) and boost it!!!
